Smile, You're on Chemo Camera

I don't know if a picture is really worth a thousand words, but I'm too tired to type many words, so this update will be in pictures and I figure it's worth four thousand words.

Trying to smile during my second infusion on March 28. This was before I had big frozen gel mitts on my hands, to prevent peripheral neuropathy, and Rick's laptop in my lap, so I could pass the time watching a movie.

Resting after a tiring workday with my cozy quilt (made by my sister-in-law, Sabrina,) my soft, comfy cap (knitted by my daughter, Erika) and my faithful feline companion, Luna. It's good to feel loved.

I got a little sad the other day to realize that I've pretty much missed our Texas bluebonnets this year. I don't think it's been our best spring for them because of the drought, but I never got out to see any fields of them in bloom. Oh, well, there's always next year. This picture was taken behind our church last spring.

Dressed for church. I think the pattern is going to be that I'll go about one out of every three Sundays during chemo. The first Sunday after a treatment, I feel pretty awful, the second I'm too vulnerable to infection and illness due to my low white blood cell count. Here I was feeling pretty good the Sunday before my third treatment. It was so good to go worship the Lord with friends and reconnect with them.

  1. You look great!!! :) Love the picture of your kitty sitting on the back of your chair. Pets really know when something is wrong, don't they?
